On 25-26 April 2024 in the Center for Scientific Information and Academic Library (CINiBA) in Katowice will take place a planned workshops: “Scientists as Knowledge Brokers and Better Science Management as a Synergy Effect of the Polish-Norwegian Collaboration” organised within WP4 of the HarSval project.

The workshop will be addressed with experts in communication and marketing of science and innovations, scientific journalists, experts in political sciences with expertise in law-making/policy-making based on scientific/expert knowledge, science diplomacy, NGOs and other structures specializing in science/knowledge communication and dissemination to the general public.

Workshops are focused on:
• communication and dissemination of scientific knowledge/traditional knowledge to the general public;
• evidence-based decision-making;
• science and policy nexus – how to transfer expert knowledge to decision-makers;
• how to translate research finding in accessible and applicable way to various stakeholders?
• how effectively create collaborations and partnerships with industry, government, NGOs or media to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and expertise?
• how to be effective in capacity building e. g. through scientists’ training or mentorship to stakeholders?
• how to provide policy advocacy (expert advice, contributing to policy development processes, promoting the use of evidence-based decision-making)?
• what are the effective tools of public engagement that allow to translate/communicate science to the general public?
