“From 29.10.2024-05.11.2024, Ari Nowacki, M.Sc., a student at the University of Silesia’s Doctoral School, completed a research internship at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim.
The main scientific goal of the stay was to establish cooperation with Prof. Frode Stenseng, a specialist in the dualistic model of escapism – a model according to which, depending on a person’s motivation, the same activity can serve a self-developmental function or serve to suppress negative emotions and beliefs about oneself.
The doctoral student participated in meetings of the NTNU scientific team, which made it possible to plan further cooperation within the framework of an international project on factors predisposing to the use of video games as a form of escapism.”
