Thanks to the support of the competition organized within the HarSval project, I participated in the scientific conference “Polar Night Week” in Longyearbyen from January 20-24, 2025. The purpose of the conference was to exchange views, reflections, and plan future actions for the benefit of the polar environment. This event brought together the SIOS community (Svalbard Integrated Arctic Earth Observing System) for scientific seminars, working group meetings, and plenary discussions. During the five intensive days, scientists also had the opportunity to present their research findings and exchange views and insights on issues related to the polar environment.

During the conference, I presented a poster on a literature review regarding the use of remote sensing in polar research. The event allowed me to exchange knowledge and engage in discussions about methods related to my research. I also participated in lectures and workshops on Arctic studies, which provided me with new knowledge and practical skills. At the same time, attending the conference created an opportunity to exchange experiences, particularly with young researchers from various research institutions, which may lead to future scientific collaboration.

The experience and skills I gained will contribute to improving the quality of my future research projects, including studies conducted as part of my doctoral dissertation. The multidisciplinary focus of the conference, addressing Arctic environmental changes, allowed me to better understand the interrelationships between various environmental factors. Active participation in the conference also enabled me to enhance my competencies in presenting research results, self-presentation, and establishing scientific connections.
