The Harsval project includes also strengthening the mobility of scientists between Polish and Norwegian entities. The outcome will be the integration of the Polish and Norwegian scientific communities, increased cohesion through increased competence and skills, and the creation of new international scientific initiatives based on Polish-Norwegian consortia to solve complex research challenges.
More information about the mobility programme you can found in WP2.

We received a report about the internship to Western Norway University of Applied Sciences (HVL) from Dr. Sara Lehmann-Konera (Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin).

We invite you to enjoy:

“Thanks to financial support from the HarSval project, which aims to strengthen the mobility of researchers between Polish and Norwegian institutions, I had the opportunity to complete a two-week internship at the Western Norway University of Applied Sciences (HVL) in Sogndal. Together with Professor Żaneta Polkowska (Gdańsk University of Technology) and MSc Katarzyna Stachniak (University of Silesia), I had the pleasure of being hosted by Professor Jacob Yde from HVL. During my first visit to mainland Norway, we conducted fieldwork designed to familiarize us with the characteristics of the local glaciers. Visiting the Norwegian Glacier Museum in Fjaerland was also incredibly helpful in expanding our knowledge. My stay at HVL provided an opportunity to discuss with Professor Yde the role of water isotopes in the environment. I was introduced to data analysis and the proper interpretation of the obtained results from water isotope studies. We discussed the findings of previous research on water samples collected in Bellsund (Svalbard) and explored publication opportunities for the collected hydrochemical data. I also had the opportunity to share my insights on the benefits of broader collaboration between Polish and Norwegian institutions in the future, as well as to meet other researchers working at the Norwegian institution I visited.”
